Opportunity for community service!
The City of Waller Texas Economic Development Corporation has a vacancy on its board.
WEDC is looking for an individual who wants to help the City grow in its mission of attracting and retaining businesses with well-paying jobs, broadening the tax base, and overall increasing the economic development potential of the City.

The qualifications needed to be a board member
(from the WEDC bylaws):
“Each Board Member shall meet at least one (1) of the following qualifications:
(a) serve, or have served, as Chief Executive Officer of a company; or
(b) serve, or have served, in a position of executive management of a company; or
(c) serve, or have served in a position of professional capacity; or
(d) have experience equivalent to any of the above qualifications.

The City Council shall consider an individual's experience, accomplishments, and educational background in appointing members to the Board to ensure that the interests and concerns of all segments of the community are considered.”
City Council will appoint the new board member. Preference will be given to candidates who either live in the City or is a leader in a company based in the City.

Public Information

A burn ban is NOT in effect for Waller County. For more information, contact City Hall at 936-372-3880. Burning is allowed in the city in approved containers only when the Burn Ban has been lifted.

The first Saturday of each month heavy trash and recyclable items can be brought to the Sewer Plant located at 102 Walnut, 8:00 am to Noon; proof of residency will be needed.

First Tuesday of each month Curbside heavy trash pick-up is available. Please call 936-372-3880 for pick up by the Monday before bulk pick up. Four (4) items allowed (no tires or anything with Freon).
